Why modify categories?
Categories make it easier for your customers to quickly find what they are looking for. A well-organized webshop with clear categories can increase your sales and provide a pleasant shopping experience. Consider organizing products by themes, seasons, or specific product groups to keep everything neatly structured.
Choose a topic to get started:
- In your CMS (Back-end), go to "Webshop".
- Click "Categories" in the left-hand menu.
- Click "New category".
- Enter a category name and optionally choose a parent category. Then click "Save and continue".

Tip!
Use clear category names to keep it simple for customers. Avoid creating a hierarchy that is too deep, as this can confuse visitors.

- Name: Give your category a clear and concise name. This helps your customers quickly find what they are looking for.
- Description: Add a description that is displayed below the category name. This helps customers better understand what they can find in this category.
- Parent category: If you are creating a subcategory, select the main category here. This keeps your categories organized and structured.
- Link: The URL of the category. You can let this generate automatically or customize it by unchecking the "Automatically rebuild link" option.
- Extra product description: This description is displayed for all products in the category. The most common location for this is on the product page, next to or near the description. This may even appear in a dedicated "tab" if your webshop uses tabs for price and product information.
- SEO: Adjust the search engine optimization settings to make your category more discoverable. More details can be found here: Getting started with SEO
- Extra description: An additional text box for SEO purposes. This is usually displayed at the bottom of the category page, after the products.
- Minimum order quantity: Set the minimum number of products that must be ordered in this category.

Add a menu image or category banner to make the category visually appealing. Upload an image and choose how it should be displayed.
- Add a main image. This is the thumbnail image for the category overview. Example:
- Banner image. This is the full-width image of a category, usually displayed above the title. Example:
Here you will find an overview of all products in the category. You can edit, remove, or reorder the products.
